✖️Myth #1 "You're forcing the dog to run." ✔️Truth Slatmills don't work without the dog's participation. Since slatmills are free spinning, it requires movement from the dog for the belt to turn. They are manual treadmills, meaning there is no motor or computer controlling how fast the belt is turning. This is done solely by the dog. This means that the dog is in total control when they're using a slatmill. If the dog doesn't move, the belt doesn't turn. Similarly, the dog gets to choose the pace that they move. They can start, stop, walk, run and everything in between all on their own. It is quite literally impossible to force a dog to run on a slatmill. If they don't want to run, they simply won't move and subsequently, the belt on the mill will remain stationary. Let's face it, dogs love to run and oftentimes it can be difficult to keep up with the energy levels of our dogs. It can also be difficult to find areas to let your dog run off leash. Some dogs aren't social butterflies and don't enjoy dog parks. Most cities have leash laws preventing dogs from running off leash on trails. Weather can make it difficult or impossible to exercise your dog outside whether it's too hot or too cold. Even hectic work schedules can make it difficult to give your dog the exercise that they require. In this video, Bits is eagerly telling her owner that she wants to RUN. #slatmill #caninefitness #dogsports #dogsofinstagram #smallbusiness
